RROMA - Macedonia it's the first association member who became a full ternYpe member. With a democratical way of voting from the other ternY pe members , RROMA from today it is a full member in the International Roma youth network. We are happy to have RROMA from Macedonia in our network. Congratulation RROMA, welcome to ternYpe.
These days ternYpe - International Roma Youth Network has come together in Durres, Albania, for several days to reflect, to share experience, to discuss the internal development of the network, to discuss specific action plan which reflect ternYpe strategy and to meet with different stakeholders of different roma and youth related institutions. 25 youth leaders representing their organizations from 9 different ternYpe member countries discussed between each other and also with stakeholders the possibilities of further cooperation and actual issues regarding Roma youth movement.
Sofia (Bulgaria) 24-29 February 2012: A training course for youth workers and Youth leaders willing to promote the Youth in Action programme as an instrument for Inclusion of Roma communities all over Europe.
The training will gather youth workers, youth leadets and young people from Roma communities in order show them the specific methods and techniques used in the international Youth in Action Projects.
Objectives:
- To identify the benefits of international projects within the Youth in Action Programme;
- To establish contacts between Roma communities all over Europe and share good practicies in attracting the Attention of young Roma people;
- To develop future plans to implement actions/projects at international level.
This document is the result of the Roma Youth Conference organised by the Council of Europe at the European Youth Centre in Strasbourg from 27 to 30 September 2011. The conference brought together Roma youth leaders and youth workers, representatives of Roma non-governmental organisations and of international organisations active in promoting Roma youth participation and in combating discrimination affecting Roma across Europe. The conference served as an open consultation with Roma young people about a two-year Roma Youth Action Plan led by the Council of Europe by identifying priorities, main areas of action and the principles underlying the preparation and implementation of such a plan. Participants in the conference both reflected on the main areas of the Action Plan and worked in smaller groups on principles, objectives and activities for each area.

Young people, in times of crisis and economic austerity, do not need nice words but strong investments. Young people must be a political and financial priority for Europe. We are going to ask the European Parliament and EU Member States for a strong and independent Youth in Action Programme for non-formal education, youth work and democratic youth organisations and an ambitious European Youth Employment Plan. Young people and youth organisations deserve nothing less!
Today the Youth Forum starts a public campaign and we need your support! We need you to act in order to spread the message from local level to the European level. We want you to get as many people as possible writing their support on the webpage, for an Independent Youth in Action Programme and Investments in Youth across the next EU Budget. We need to target the Heads of State, the Youth and Education ministers and the European Parliament in order for them to invest in young people in general.

On November 28th and 29th, ternYpe - International Roma Youth Network will participate in the Final Conference on Effective Roma campaigning organized by ERGO Network in the frame of the REACT campaign.
ERGO Network with its members Policy Center for Roma and Minorities (Romania), Integro Association (Bulgaria) and Roma Active Albania is inviting you to the final conference of the campaign REACT - Make Europe an equal place for Roma.
We will present the results, achievements and lessons learned and show a selection of the rich material that bears testimony to the achievements and presents the stories behind the conclusions. At the conference, people involved in the campaign together with ERGO members andpartners will be present, as well as policy makers, media and Roma civil society from across Europe. We are pleased to inform you of the Call for applicants for Group C of the Youth Peace Ambassadors Project. This is the last group that will be launched within the framework of this project and candidates will need to be committed to working on the project from 15 November 2011 through to December 2012.
The platform Young Migrants organised a workshop on Saturday bringing together volunteers from migrant’s organisations from all over Europe. Together, they discussed the benefits and challenges of volunteer work for migrants.
All of the participants stressed that volunteering does enhance the chances for integration. First, on a personal level. They emphasised that migrants can start to be who they are by volunteering. Volunteering can give migrants the self-confidence that migrants need to fight racism actively. It gives them the courage needed to challenge prejudices of the local population.
From July 9 to 15 Malena Halilovic, a member of the Romà Onlus, was in New York to attend the 49th CEDAW session, the Convention for the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women, held at United Nations Headquarters.
Here is the story of her experience:
“Some months ago, Romà Onlus contacted me to tell me that the ERRC (European Roma Rights Centre him) was looking for girls to do a research on the situation of Roma women in Italy and that I was selected along with other Roma girls. During the course they taught us to do interviews. Then we began the research, that lasted 8 months. The Women i met were collaborative and recounted the many incidents of discrimination they suffer every day. It was a long and difficult work. Once I finished the interviews, I have sent it to ERRC who drafted the report. Later, ERRC has chosen me to go in the United States and present it to the CEDAW Committee, together with a representative of the ERRC during the 49th session of the CEDAW Committee.

Currently I am in Germany, where I have been volunteering at Amarodrom Berlin for the past 8 or 9 months. It's a young organisation of roma and non-roma together. We do a lot of self-organising, mobilizing and building a cultural identity. Amaroforo, on the local level, has three different groups: a youth, a political and a cultural group. And then you also have TERN YPE, which is an international organisation of 9 countries of Roma. It is with them that I am here in Brussels. But I love volunteering in Germany, not in the least because it's a very fast and easy way to learn the German language. It's also a good way to learn to be responsible. My favourite part of being here in Brussels at the Youth Convention is working with young people, promoting TERN YPE, putting us on the map and trying to recruit members for our organisation. My message to possible recruits? "Be young, be a volunteer!"
